The Truth Will Set You Free

The truth will set you free, but you need to know the truth first.
I’ve been listening to a book, Winning the War in Your Mind, highly recommended 💯. The first part of the book focuses on the replacement principle. Which I have found very interesting, because there are lies so embedded in us that we believe then to be truth. To us they aren’t even lies anymore, because we have strongly accepted them as truths. We need to replace the lies we believe about ourselves with truths of God. But you have to know the truth first to be set free.

How can we attack the lies of the enemy without first knowing the truth of God. Unfortunately, reading a passage of scripture once in while will not do the trick. You have to continually be in God’s word. Continually creating a time and space in your daily life to be reminded of His truth. The attack of the enemy never stops, so we need to seek our Father daily. An example: “you aren’t enough, you aren’t capable of doing your job or pressuring your passion.” What happens is we say: “that’s true, I don’t have the education/training I need to carry this out, I’m not capable.” Well the truth is God can use anyone & will chose who He wants to use. 1 Cor 1:26-31:

26 For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, 29 so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. 30 And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, 31 so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

Anything we think about ourselves that puts us down, that underestimates us, that compares us, that victimized us, are lies and ways the enemy keeps us down.
I pray that as we get through this week, that the Holy Spirit begins to bring these lies to our attention and we identify them as such. And we replace them with truths.
