About Me
Greetings! I am Carmen Elisa Reyes, and it brings me great joy to extend a warm welcome to my blog. From humble beginnings as mere thoughts shared on social media, this journey has blossomed into a wondrous adventure, and I am incredibly grateful for the amazing individuals who have supported and guided me along the way. Though I may sometimes question myself, I hold firm to the belief that my words can provide inspiration from God to those seeking encouragement. I aspire to ignite hope and strengthen your bond with Jesus by intertwining creative expression with uplifting language.
I'm, first and foremost, a Jesus follower. I’m a Christian and not perfect. If the “Christian” label turns you off, I’m sorry. But I do hope you stick around and see that it’s about a relationship and belief in Jesus (my higher power) and not about religion. It’s about the work He does on the inside as I face daily life. Perhaps you've had negative encounters with Christians and the Church before. In my personal experience, I've noticed that individuals tend to be extremely dedicated to their beliefs and often feel compelled to impose them on others. This behavior can ultimately cause more harm than good. However, I aim to present a different perspective in this blog. I desire to introduce you to the grace and love of Jesus and the hope that can be discovered in Him.
Moving along to a little more about me…
I'm Mexican-American, born and raised in Texas. My parents are from Torreon, Chihuahua. I come from a family of 7; I have two sisters and two brothers. The majority of my extended family lives in Mexico. I am also the wife of my wonderful husband, David. My lifelong sweetheart. I am a mother to two fabulous kiddos, Shayla and David. They are my pride and joy, and I look forward to sharing more about the miracles they are.
In January 2019, we moved to the beautiful PNW!
My family and I currently reside in Olympia, Washington, which is located on the upper left side of the United States. Although it's quite different from our previous home in Dallas, Texas, we have thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Personally, I've developed a newfound love for nature since moving here. Hiking has become one of my favorite activities, allowing me to appreciate the beauty of God's creation. Additionally, I have discovered a fondness for lattes and chai teas, which are quite popular in the Pacific Northwest region. Coffee shops and huts are abundant here, almost as much as churches in Texas! It's a good thing, as it helps maintain my sanity during the long, cloudy days. However, the summers here are absolutely amazing!
And a little more about me…
I'm naturally an introvert, but I love people. I have a newfound passion to coach and mentor others. It is fulfilling to help people on their healing journey and discover their purpose. I am a good listener and enjoy getting to know people's stories. I might also add that I'm very sentimental, and a powerful testimony also brings me to tears. A few other fun facts about me, I’m a seamstress, and my grandma Carmen was a seamstress too. I have been sewing for many years, vocationally and as a hobby to this day. I realized I enjoy it more as a hobby and not an occupation :). I like working on little projects here and there, sometimes for fun and sometimes as favors. I love fashion, too! I love clothes, I love thrifting, and finding a good deal! There are a few questionable pictures of me where I now think, what was I thinking wearing that? LOL! I also enjoy Netflix binging like nobody's business, LOL!
Well, I think I've covered some basics. I hope you enjoy visiting and reading my blog. I hope you find encouragement in the things I'll be sharing. I'm looking forward to it, and I am also looking forward to hearing from you in the process! Be sure to check out my first blog, So I Started a Blog.
